Abstract
We take force and motion around us for granted, but did you ever wonder why things work as they do? The force that propels a car forward is NOT supplied by the engine! Newton's Laws explain much of why our physical world works as it does. We discuss how important it is to understand the world around us and how people use this understanding to better the things they do such as play guitar, play football, and design cars. I motivate an understanding of Newton's Laws by example with many fun demonstrations.
