. sigma pi sigma: physics honor society at Randolph College
The Randolph College chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma was established in 1999 (founded as Randolph-Macon Woman's College Chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma).  Sigma Pi Sigma is a national honor society run by the national Society of Physics Students.  Membership in Sigma Pi Sigma does not require a physics major.  The requirements are: the student must be in the top third of her/his class

The newest Sigma Pi Sigma members will be inducted April.  A list of our past inductees is to your left.

what is sigma pi sigma? "Founded in 1921, Sigma Pi Sigma is a member honor society of the Association of College Honor Societies. . . Sigma Pi Sigma exists to honor outstanding scholarship in physics; to encourage interest in physics among students at all levels; to promote an attitude of service of its members towards their fellow students, colleagues, and the public; to provide a fellowship of persons who have excelled in physics."
