TO FIND OUT how most anything works, you’ll eventually get to physics if you probe deep enough. (In this spirit, Ernest Rutherford supposedly pronounced, “All science is either physics or stamp collecting.”) |

Unless otherwise noted, the physlet problems above were authored by Peter Sheldon. Please feel free to use them in another web page as long as you identify me as the author. These problems are scripted Physlets. In all cases the Physlet was programmed by Wolfgang Christian, Davidson College. Applet refers to Java code which allows one to run and script a small application on a web page. Physlets are Applets with physics content. Scripting refers to a type of programming in which you tell the Physlet or Applet what to do. An example is the Animator Physlet, which can be very flexibly scripted to show all types of motion for a moving object (a ball, a box, etc.) To learn more about creating physics-based problems for the web, and for a lot more examples see http://webphysics.davidson.edu/Applets/Applets.html.
