Online Summer Physics Courses - Syllabi are available here for those needing them for approval to take these courses. If you need more information, please feel free to contact Peter Sheldon, Chair, Department of Physics & Engineering any time at psheldon@randolphcollege.edu.

The summer courses include:

algebra-based phyics, two semesters: 105 and 106 (Introductory Physics I and II) and associated labs (3 credit lecture, 1 credit lab)

calculus-based physics, two semesters: 115 and 116 (General Physics 1 and II) and associated labs (4 credit lecture, 1 credit lab)

The summer lecture courses are identical to the semester courses, covering the same topics in the same ways. Different faculty differ, of course, but the course covers the identical material. The only difference is that it is condensed into more hours per week and fewer weeks.

These are the syllabi for 105 and 106:

The summer labs are still mostly hands-on, but also include more simulations than the regular semester labs. We manage to make it hands-on by providing a lab kit, and by having a live, online, video lab period for each lab, during which students can do the lab with the faculty member. The lab manuals/syllabi can be found at the following websites:

Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to seeing you (virtually) in class!
