1. An object is attached to a scale, and when hanging in air, the scale reads 19.0 N. The object is then submerged in water, and the spring scale reads 9.0 N.  Identify, for theobject hanging from the scale, each force (by name) and its value while it is submerged and stationary in the water.
  2. I have some water in a glass.  The volume of my glass is 30 cm3.   What is the weight of the water in my glass?  Please explain how you came to this number.  (If you don't know right off, this might take some book-work - try your text, fluids section, or ask your chemistry friends how you would do it.)

Please submit your pre-lab on Moodle by one hour before your lab period begins (12 pm Monday or 6 pm Wednesday). Thank you!
