thinking of joining sps?
You do not have to be a physics major to join; we want anyone who thinks physics is cool to sign up!

You can be a member in the national club and/or the Randolph College club. Most participants would be a member of both. You are more than welcome to just join our campus club for free, but national membership comes with many benefits, including:
+ A subscription to Physics Today, a magazine devoted to all things physics which comes in your mailbox every month!
+ Free registration at physics conferences around the country
+ If you are a current SPS member and you qualify, the Department will pay for your induction into Sigma Pi Sigma, the national honor society
+ The thrill of knowing you are part of an elite group of members who paid their dues

If you woudl like to become a national member, please contact Dr. Sheldon, as we may have a Departmental membership that will cover you as well.

If you can't wait to join the smartest club at Randolph, then e-mail Dr. Sheldon, and come to our weekly meeting!

Still not convinced SPS is for you?  Then come to one of our meetings and see what it is about.

We have both anecdotal and statistical evidence that persons with a degree in physics do well in a huge spectrum of careers, and not only in the traditional track. Physics alumni are engineers, computer scientists, insurance actuaries, teachers, managers, patent lawyers, financial analysts, musicians, mathematicians, statisticians, education administrators. They have made careers in business, chemistry, meteorology, geology, biophysics, medicine, and many other fields.
